Why isn't the Recovery on this year.
Licensing have cancelled the Recovery for this year due to the untimely antics of a few patrons. The Committee is aiming to have it back next year where you simply buy your drinks. We hope you enjoy the great atmosphere and beaches of Great Keppel Island if you are up to it. If not then the Rocky venues will have something on that you can go to.
What if it rains
The Ball is held in a huge undercover area at the Showgrounds. Rain willl only cool things down and add a great atmosphere. There may be a few puddles around so just where comfortable old shoes that can suit different surfaces.
Can we camp at the Showgrounds
Only at your own risk. There is a lot of parkland along the River as well but at night it is a bit of a dodgy area. The Committee has looked at this closely and are concerned with liability. The Riverside Tourism Park is a much better option ($8/person/night unpowered site) that gives you access to showers, toilets, shady trees and even a pool. Most patrons end up in town anyway and the Park is only a 5 minute walk over the bridge. Patrons that have stayed there have had a great time.
Dress for the Ball
Gangster & Glamour / Dress to impress Dress – Be creative. We have relaxed the dress standard considerably but the girls do like dressing up so it is up to the males to match. As long as you look a bit gangstery we are happy but do not rock up in jeans and a T shirt. Most males will probably where the traditional white shirt and black trousers which is fine but we do encourage you to be creative. Dress to impress does allow a bit of flexibility and fines/donations will only be issued for obvious cases if allowed in. Coats are not required due to the warmer weather and ties are optional. Wear comfortable footwear that is suitable for all surfaces. Flat shoes for girls are fine but we discourage things like thongs.
Do we need to go to everything
No just pick and choose what you would like to go to.
Refunds.
Refunds will not be given unless there are extenuating circumstances. It simply gets too messy. Patrons are encouraged to on sell unwanted tickets as this has worked well in the past. Definitely no refunds after the Ball. Email:
